As we look ahead to the upcoming early summer of 2012, we've got some 2.5 and 2 Day trips in June and July. These trips are a great way to maximize our time on the water, cover as much water as possible, and get on some fish early in the year. These will be freelance trips targeting offshore bluefin, albacore, and yellowtail, and if necessary fishing the beach in hopes of coastal yellowtail, white seabass, halibut, and rockfish. With bluefin jumpers being seen and local yellowail showing, I'm very excited to get out on these early trips.

The Ultra is under new ownership! She was purchased in February of this year by long-time sportfishing veterans John Woodrum and Jeff Jessop. You may have at one time or another fished with one or both of these seasoned captains. John has spent the last 30 years on the water, Jeff nearly 20 years. Both John and Jeff are looking forward to their new adventure and are anxious to get started fishing this season. Looking forward to the break of June here guys and there's some very promising conditions shaping up. We have a 2.5 Limited Load trip departing on Friday 6/1 at 5PM. This will be an Offshore/Mexican Coast Freelance trip targeting coastal yellowtail and offshore bluefin/albacore if conditions develop.

Friends of Rollo, in conjunction with participating Southern California Sportfishing landings from San Diego to Santa Barbara, will be hosting two upcoming “Kids Fish Free days”. This is a special opportunity for kids and adults who aren’t involved in organized youth groups to benefit from our youth fishing program and a great way for adults to introduce children to the wonderful sport of recreational sportfishing. The “Kids Fish Free” promotion is being held on Saturday, June 2nd and Sunday June 3rd, 2012.
